The Waukee Brief
Waukee is building a downtown from scratch, and the openings are landing fast. Here are the notable new and coming-soon spots around town, freshest developments first, centered on the KeeTown Loop entertainment district and the Kettlestone corridor. Know one we missed? Tell us.
Two districts are driving most of it. The KeeTown Loop is Waukee's new entertainment district, anchored by the 3,330-capacity Vibrant Music Hall and the 125-room Aloft Waukee hotel next door. Kettlestone, a 164-acre mixed-use development at Grand Prairie Parkway and Westown Parkway, is filling in with restaurants, retail, and the coming Kettlestone Social food hall. A separate stretch, Kettlestone Lakes, is planned northwest of the I-80 and Grand Prairie Parkway interchange.
The KeeTown Loop is Waukee's purpose-built entertainment district. Its headline draw is Vibrant Music Hall, a 3,330-capacity concert venue that pulls touring acts to the western suburbs, and right next door the Aloft Waukee, a 125-room Marriott hotel. Together they anchor a walkable district that keeps adding dining and nightlife.
Kettlestone is a large mixed-use development in the heart of Waukee, roughly 164 acres at Grand Prairie Parkway and Westown Parkway, envisioned as a new town center. Its biggest coming addition is Kettlestone Social, a two-story family-friendly food hall and entertainment space announced by developer Caliber, planned to feature multiple food vendors including a second Exile Brewing location, plus pickleball, duckpin bowling, an arcade, and a rooftop bar.
Waukee's growth is concentrated in two districts: the KeeTown Loop entertainment area, anchored by Vibrant Music Hall and the Aloft Waukee hotel, and the Kettlestone corridor, where the Kettlestone Social food hall is set to open in 2026. New restaurants and retail keep filling in around them, and the Brief flags fresh openings as they are confirmed.
Announced additions include The Breakfast Club, a brunch concept expanding to Waukee for early 2026, and a second Exile Brewing location inside the coming Kettlestone Social food hall. Established local spots like Barn Town Brewing continue to anchor the scene. See our restaurants guide for what is open now.
Kettlestone Social, the two-story food hall and entertainment venue announced by Caliber, has been slated to open in 2026. Opening timelines for large developments can shift, so treat the date as a target and confirm before planning a visit.
The KeeTown Loop is Waukee's new entertainment district, home to the 3,330-capacity Vibrant Music Hall concert venue and the adjacent 125-room Aloft Waukee hotel, with more dining and nightlife filling in around them.
Waukee is one of Iowa's fastest-growing cities, which is why developers and local entrepreneurs keep expanding here. Strong population growth and major new districts like KeeTown Loop and Kettlestone drive steady demand.
